Once you already have a hit debut album, the follow-up would be it’s crucial release. It’s a make-or-break period for them and for the fans. Sometimes, it’s because of what they expect on the follow-up (supposing that you have a very successful debut album released) Stonefree is one of those bands
The guys who brought you the catchy song “Listen” of the now-defunct television show “Single” is back this year. After being silent for the past couple of months, they welcomed their fans this new year with a new album entitled “Delorian” which never fails to deliver
The album opens up with “Anghel” a song about a loved one that is like an angel. Heavy guitar riffs are present, just like the good ol stonefree days. Then there’s LSS, Tadhana (which is also heavily guitar riffed) and so the list goes on (Don’t lie to me, it’s over, bend, lost days of may, tidal waves, love and grace ) Nasan na, which is like “sayang” from their debut album hibiscus also stands out.
My only question: why 10 tracks? Compared to “Hibiscus” their debut album which is 15 tracks, why it was only 10? Just as when im starting to enjoy the music, the album comes to it’s end. Either way, not bad for the band’s sophomore release. A few spins of this disc and you find something new to the ear to hear.
Possible future singles:
- Tadhana
- LSS
- Nasan na
Overall Rating:
B+
