*First of all, i would like to thank you blog readers of points of interests as my blog has already reached 1,000+ hits since it got it’s own domain around January. It may have so many hits as squared’s blogsite, still it’s a good way to start.
Last night as me and my friend kristian were strolling around the mall and hunting for dvd’s and music cd’s (hey, it’s been a while since i went on and shop at a record bar) He bought himself a john mayer cd and dvd (where the light is) and while i was waiting for the release of the final set from the eraserheads (i even asked the store if they have any ideas as to when the boxed set will be available but sad to say, they didn’t know when)
And so as i was browsing some cd’s in store, i have found this one cd that i have been looking for. I was surprised but nevertheless, excited. What album am i talking about? It’s Fall Crash Infect from Zach Lucero. Yeah, that one local drummer guy whom i admired and hopes of someday, would be able to play and ask tips from him on playing the drums. I can still remember the song that i heard about months ago on NU107 with the same title as of the album and i said to myself, wow! Zach can sing.
And so i bought the cd and while having dinner in a resto, i can’t help but open the cd and check out the sleeve. The album cover itself is catchy

Fall Crash Infect cover...Nicely done
Upon chcking the songs (it has 10 tracks by the way) i noticed that some of the songs were collaborations from other artists which includes Kris Dancel, Marie Jamora, and Sarah Marco (My favorite) just to name a few. It even have Lourd de veyra on Superpoke (influenced by the facebook phenomenon)
As i got home, i poped the cd in my player and i was treated with an ear pleasure sound (not that noisy, just right) His lyrics are somewhat tragic and all about heartaches but to my surprise, it can be delivered in a pop-ish way. Take that emo-screaming boys…. heheh!
The songs that i liked in the album are the following:
- Fall Crash Infect
- Matina Town Square
- What If
- Superpoke
don’t get me wrong, i liked all the tracks in the album but these 4 tracks got my attention. Why?
- Fall Crash Infect is a fast song that is sure will get you up to your feet.
- Matina Town Square features Sarah of Taken by Cars. I liked how Zach arranged the track to fit in with a Taken by cars sound. Nice job.
- What If is a slow song that is also comfort to the ears. Plus the lyrics are well done.
- Superpoke features lourd de veyra on backing vocals talking about so facebook stuff in a narrative way.
I highly recommend that you buy the album if you want to get a fresh sound away from emo bands, hard rock nor even the pop music that is currently infesting the airwaves.
