Ahh, in a few hours, we shall bid goodbye to 2009 and hello in the year 2010. Almost a decade had already passed. It was just like yesterday when the whole world panicked about the Y2K problem, Tsunami’s and terrorist attacks are here and there. The fall of Saddam Hussein, the election of the first African-American president and other things that were truly a first for everyone, including your truly
As we look back in the year 2009, our country also has it’s shares of up’s and downs. We had the so-called “rice shortage” problem, the sex scandals which paved way to names like Maricar Reyes, Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili. We even sang the song “Careless Whisper” and uttered the words “Ooh lala! Sizzling Hot!” We felt sad with the deaths of the following celebrities like King of pop Michael Jackson, The EDSA revolution icon Cory Aquino, The creator of one of the most famous models of guitar that most musicians use, Les Paul just to name a few.
Ondoy caught us off-guard but instead of falling and tumbling down in the ground, we all joined hands and we rose from the aftermath. Truly, one of the sights to see and something to be proud of us filipinos all over the world. The massacre of journalists that happened in mindano which up to know, still has no justice served. I support the codemning of killing my fellow journalists.
Pacquiao kept on annihilating his foes (he’s done with mexicans, Hatton and Cotto were his new targets this year and he was successful on it) Too bad the dream match against Mayweather is on the rocks and im still hoping that one day, these 2 showstoppers will finally face off in the ring and prove to the world, who’se the real number one pound for pound fighter.
This is just a little sample of my look back at 2009. The next post will be my New Year’s Revolution (as i do it every year) 2009 in review and the tunes that kept me rockin on the year that is full of surprises and unexpected turns…
~Cheers!
