Weeks before the release of the highly-anticipated games starcraft 2, someone got hands on the collector’s edition waay early…

And to think there were only 50 (yes only that number) of copies that’s available here in the philippines?

Dear Blizzard,

Please give us more collector’s edition copies of SC2 and for the love of god, lower the prices of it. They charge it here as high as $150 dollars. The standard edition costs almost $80. That’s how high the prices here.

Also, make our realm accessible to other countries as well, not here in Asia. For sure, you guys know that we are in the same portal realm as Korea and as everybody knows, it’s considered as their national sport thus, we will get annihilated (but hey, it’s a good training ground also for us.)

Thanks and hoping to get my copy so that i unleash the zergs like what i usually do way back in high school…

Yes, after almost 3 weeks of playing (well, not full time but once in a while) the megabet that crisler and i engaged to had finally ended. Well. here is a video showing the achievements that i unlocked. Do note however that i haven’t finished the game yet (but trust me, the other challenges are indeed challenging and i will try to accomplish them also)

if you didn’t understand what i meant, here is the list of achievements that i did accomplished:

Conqueror - Defeat your 100th enemy
Vanquisher - Defeat your 500th enemy
Destroyer - Defeat your 1000th enemy
Pack Rat - Collect 999 screws
Valued Customer - Purchase all items
Shop-A-Holic – Purchase 30 items or more
Survivor – Defeat one boss with only one pixel of energy left.
Speed Metal – Reach a boss’ room without stopping once
Fantastic 9 - Accumulate 9 lives
Eco Fighter – Defeat a boss using only the mega buster
Quick Draw T - Defeat tornado man in under 10 seconds

As part of the megabet that i entered about a week ago, i asked myself how hard this game is? How hard can it be to get those 10 achievements in a month (i’m on my 6th and 4 more to go)

After checking this video that i saw from one of my officemates, i asked myself, what if the bosses behave like this?

I know some of you guys and girls know the game Megaman (yeah, the blue bomber who does all sorts of weapon upgrades by defeating level bosses..) yeah, old-school gameplay…

Everyone who knows their games knows that the Megaman series contains some of the hardest platform-shooter gameplay in games-design history. The enemies are unforgiving, the health bar shockingly sensitive, and your weapons puny for a good while before you start getting given the means to fight back. How? By beating Dr. Wily’s various monstrous mechanical creations, that’s how.

It’s an unforgiving series of games, and 9 is no different. Sometimes I think most people would rather be playing games from www.partypoker.com or something that feels a little bit more casual, but it’s that Ikargua-style hardcore gameplay that draws people back to it, time and again. So, with that in mind, I’ll continue the tale.

Yesterday, i was lured into a bet by my officemate Crisler with regards to this game. Here’s how the bet goes:

I will purchase the game Megaman 9 on the Playstation Network Store (crisler gave me the initial funding to buy it) and his bet? in a month, i have to make at least 10 achievements from the list of achievements which can be found here)

However, if i lose this friggin’ bet, then he gets the amount of the game back plus an additional 80 pesos. How will he be able to check the achievements i have already completed? By video

I’m planning (if i still find the time) to document this bet into a simple 2-3 minute video update which will be posted here on my blog. Goodluck to me! hehehe
