Pardon me for the poor camera that i used as i still don’t have a descent camera on hand as we unboxed this thing.

So my afterthoughts on the real thing:

• The box containing the goods is huge. It has a black color with Drake’s image on it
• The design of the box (this time the one containing the goods and game) are well made as welll. Though im a little disappointed with the figurine, hey the ring/necklace and belt buckle is good enough for me
• The game’s steel book case is win! i liked the embossed details on the steel case
• Lot’s of DLC’s included for the R3 version. Im not sure about the other versions but mine contains the following

Premium Voucher

• 1 Carpet Bomb Kickback
• 2 Regeneration Booster
• 3 Creepy Crawler Kickback

Steelbook Voucher

• 1 Clip Size Mod for G-Mal
• 2 Callout Mod for AK-47

Overall, i like the Collectors Edition and a little less pricey as compared to the other games. Also, im after the game so this is a must have for all Uncharted fans out there!

One of the first games that i got after buying my PS3 was Uncharted: Drakes Fortune (the first installment of the game) and honestly, i was hooked. After that, i picked up the second part of the game and managed to finish it on one sitting (well, not on crushing mode…. that’s hardcore)

And after 2 years, here come the latest installment. This time, Nathan is now wandering the deserts. Little details are known on the third installment but most of the familiar faces from the previous games are back (Drake, Chloe, Sully, and  Elena to name a few) and who know whose in there as well.

I have been playing the Multiplayer open beta and it retains one of the strong points of the second installment plus alot of fun.

I’d like to keep my hopes high to get this Collector’s edition of the game as seen below:

Guys, if you like to play action/adventure games on your PS3, this is one game that is hard to pass on. With superb voice acting, well executed story and memorable characters, this one is a must buy for this year.

I recommend you guys pick this one up as it get’s released this November 1, 2011.

Around last week, Sony released a new television advertisment for the Playstation 3 named as “Long live Play” campaign and this commercial features some of the Stars from the games released on the Playstation 3.

Typically you get Nathan Drake of Uncharted 3, Cole of Infamous, Solid Snake of Metal Gear, Kratos and Athena of the God Of War Series, and a whole lot more (there are cameos from Sackboyof Little Big Planet, Ezio from Assassins Creed and more)

• Batman: Arkham City – Must sell or trade games in order for me to get this one. I’ve finished the first installment and i’ll not miss this one.
• Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception - I’ll be getting the collector’s edition. i’ve been saving up for quite sometime and this one is one game that i wouldn’t miss. No contest, one of the best PS3 games of all time
• Dead Island – Will be released exactly tomorrow if all goes well… Zombies have never been this fun to annihilate!
• God Of War Origins Collection – Kratos + gigantic bosses + HD = Sold!
• Dark Souls - If Demon souls is hard, wait till you get your hands on this game.
• Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 - New fighters, lower price, what to expect from Capcom.
• Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection - PS2 Classice reborn on the PS3

Those are some of the game that are about to be released before the year ends.

However, the 2 games that are most FPS players out are talking about are also 2 of the choices that i would like to get this year as well. What am i talking about? It’s Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 (Hey, third time’s a charm!)

So let’s get a rundown on these 2 games.

Battlefield 3

• Different from the Battlefield: Bad Company franchise.
• Has vehicles
• Large maps; we are talking about island to island.
• Battlefield 2 for the PC, if i can remember it’s up to 32 players but now on part 3, they are targeting to a total of 64 players.
• Uses the Frostbite Engine 2
• Vehicles can be immobilized before being destroyed

Modern Warfare 3

• Third in the series, A continuation of the second installment
• Returning characters like Soap McTavish, John Price, Nikolai and others just to name a few
• Dedicated servers for the PC (this was an issue in Modern Warfare 2, they opted for IWnet)
• New Multiplayer game modes (Kill Confirm, Team Defender, Infection, Drop Zone, Team Juggernaut, Gun Game and One in the Chamber)
• Includes the Call of Duty XP Elite membership where players can participate and compete for real money

So there are the details, now here are my thouhts on both games and this is where the faceoff for consumers like me begins.

• 64 Players is a cool concept, except if your PC can handle the mayhem that will happen on the screen. +1 to Battlefield 3
• If all goes well, the story in the Modern Warfare series has got to be one of the immersive ones i have seen and felt. +1 to Modern Warfare 3
• New Multiplayer game modes is a plus on a Gamers perspective. While Battlefield 3 has the 64 player mayhem, the new game modes in MW3 is something im looking forward to give a try. For this, +1 for Modern Warfare 3
• Fighting with your enemies have never been good with vehicles. From Tanks to Choppers Amphibians to Jets…. Yes those Badass jets are back! +1 for Battlefield 3

If i were to decide, it’s up for the player to choose what to get. But for now, i’m leaning towards Battlefield 3, simply because of the possible mayhem that it will bring to the players and at the same time, it’s good to reminisce the good ol’ Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 days… Teamplay is on!

On the Other hand, the Limited Edition that will be packed here in the Philippines only contains tha Back to Karkand Pack, Physical warfare pack and im so surprised and disappointed that they replaced the Steelbook Case into a T-Shirt… yes a Friggin T-Shirt…. Hoping for Modern Warfare 3 to keep up their Steel Case “Hardened Edition” when it gets here.

I personally like the series that was made by Infinity Ward (no offense to Treyarch guys) because of memorable characters and the story is just wow….. lot’s of twists and turns (have to admit though, the twist in Modern Warfare 2 blows)

Now, i demand (like a terrorist) to the developers the following:

• Bring back local LAN game (It’s a must)
• Maintain the storytelling of the first 2 games (it’s not broken, don’t fix it)
• Free DLC maps (please)
• New streak kills (no nukes please….)
• Bring back the buy with the mustaches (hehehe)
• Awesome epic soundtrack
• Controversial. Like the “No Russians” mission…

I’ll add up more when i can come up with other things.

Sorry haven’t been blogging for a while because of the following reasons:

• As some of you may know already, i got married to the love of my life, my wife and whom i call pancake, Mrs. Charity Gonzales. It’s a brand new start for us but rest assured, everything will be A-Ok! love you so much!
• Been busy moving to our new home (sorry haven’t provided a picture of our house as i still haven’t uploaded it from the cam) it’s not that big nor that small, but it fits perfectly for the both of us.
• In other news: the previous project that i have been working through (before i was assigned to a new one) is finally out on the Appstore. The name of the game is Starfront HD.  Go get it on the Appstore.
• Since we are now into gaming, i’m happy to announce that i am currently working on 2 games for the Freebox console. I still can’t announce the title of the games but i can give some hints. One is a racing game while the other is a challenge for the team as it is an RPG on the freebox with a twist. I’ll tell you the details as soon as they are released. hehe!
• Finally got a 1mbps line on our new home. yay! Bad news: It’s from Digitel (or as i call it, DC-Tel) well, i have no other choice. crap!
• Started playing L.A. Noire and i’ve been getting mixed reactions over the game. Overhyped, Repetetive, and overheating PS3′s? hmm… better give it a test. Still playing Mortal Kombat though….. FATALITY! hehehe!
• Already have an original composition for Mushtards. If you are not aware of who are ze Mushtards, please visit our Fanpage. Can’t wait to le the world hear our music.

For those who are not familiar, me and my fiancée for 3 years got married last April 30, 2011 and i’m still compiling the journey that we had from preparation up to the actual event. It was a very joyous occasion and i would like to thank all of you. This year has been a truly blessed year for us.

On another note, the game that me and the boys (and one girl heheh!) have been doing in the past few months finally came to it’s gold and release phase.

What game is that you ask?

Dungeon Hunter 2 (yeah, that hack-and-slash game on the iPhone and iPad)

We recently finished porting it on the Freebox . If you are not familiar on what is freebox, it’s a console based system that is available only in France. Hey, at least it’s a console and i believe that freebox is one of the largest selling home consoles in France so i think this is something we can also be proud of. Plus it may not be PS3, but you can play it on a HDTV hehehe!

This game franchise goes beyond the limits of other wii games. In this game they have a motion sensor that straps to your legs so both arm and leg movements are captured via the wii remote. Unlike the wii balance board which is a lot expensive and has a weight limit that stops some gamers from being able to use it. It allows a much more accurate picture of how you’re doing the exercises and is much more strict about doing them properly than other arm movement only games. It also comes with an arm strapped heart rate monitor that displays your heart rate on screen as you exercise, highlighting when you reach certain fat burning levels.The third unique feature of this game is the inclusion of a resistance band that is used with the Wii Remote for strength building exercises. Now you can have the body of someone who’ve undergone a smart lipo.

The brilliance of this game is that you have to mimic yourself to the exercises that the virtual trainer does.  None of the exercises are over 3-5 minutes long so you never have time to get bored with what you’re doing before your trainer has you moving on to some other game.

The crossover we have all been waiting for. It was already announced last year and we were only given a prototype video of the said game.

In other news….

Also,, the rumored DLC (rumor that there would also be a disc version) for Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition has been unveiled as well.

The video leaked last week and not until today, this one was officially unveiled. Though i have to admit, the excitement was not that high enough because of the leak but hey, at least it’s something to look forward to for players like me who get’s beaten up in the arcades.

I should practice more….
