And now for part 2 of the mixtape.

This time, the foreign side of things. Here’s the list in no particular order:

Breaking by Anberlin - Powerful voice, catchy riffs and nice lyrics would be the main reasons why this one is on my list

Up all night by Blink 182 - Reunited and back with a new album the boys of punk rock is back to make noise.

We are all that we are by Angels and Airwaves – Tom Delonge’s other band, their latest album packs memorable songs as the Love saga ends.

Paradise by Coldplay - Taken from Mylo Xyloto, weird name for an album, these boys are back with a catchy line on this song… Para-Para… Paradise….

Slow Dancing in a Burning Room by John Mayer - Go cry about it, why don’t you…. i love this song!

Pure River by ENT - A Japanese artist that i heard of while watching the movie “Solanin” and it’s one soothing track. Loved the movie as well

Pumped-up kicks by Foster The People – All the other kids with their pumped-up kicks… catchy and danceable tune yet dark meaning to the lyrics.

Paper Planes by Street Sweeper Social Club - If you loved the “Slumdog Millionaire” version, then you will love this one as well.

Jetlag by Simple Plan – Heart heart… heart is so Jetlag…. Mushy and catchy song but with an attitude.

Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5 – Yep, Let’s dance everyone!

All of the Lights by Kanye West – Kanye yes still has balls, and this is one genius track from him. Alot of nice artists collaboration as well. Can you name em all?

5 o’ Clock by T-Pain - Soothing sounds as you drive by in the we hours of the morning… 5′o clock that is… hehehe!

Notice that the list has a wide diversity of genre and not only focused on rock. I’m starting to like hip-hop tunes and nasty beats.

Also, there are some tunes that are too mainstream that i didn’t included in the mixtape as either im really friggin’ annoyed (teach me how to what the efff is that?) and or either too mainstream (bum-ba-dumbam-bum-badum bum bey) sorry guys.

As the year closes, im off to distribute the yearly mixtapes that i have been doing for this blog. Here are some of the tracks that was playing on my media player for the past year. As the rules go on, this will be uploaded for a limited time only so once the link up, better start grabbin.

I’ll upload the first mixtape which is the OPM music entitled “Twenty-oh-eleven OPM Mixtape” that contains the following tracks (not in particular order but hey, it’s all there)

Feels Like by Sugarfree – Top on my list as i used this on the AVP of our wedding. Pretty cute tune indeed

Tamalee by Hijo - Remnants of Bamboo the band, this is Nathan Azarcon’s new band. Raw, hard and melodic, this is Hijo

Questions by Bamboo – On the other side, we have the former frontman going solo and retaining his bluesy style of singing

Luha by Ebe Dancel - As Sugarfree brok up late last year and then totally disbanded this year, the former frontman went solo and released an album. Out of thracks in the album, this one has got to be the wrist slashing song…..

Wala na tayo by BBS band Feat. Kean Cipriano – Another collaboration from the frontman of Callalily.

Motor Girl by Gaijin - Take Shinji Tanaka on Drums, Raimund Marasigan on Bass and Jesse Grinte on Guitars and vocals, another raw sounding band which i personally like

Diveler by Wilabaliw – Rock on! solid solid song from Ian Tayao and the rest of the band rocks hard. another personal choice from them

Autopilot by Taken By Cars – The band is back and this time more technicality and diversity on their sound. Me gusta!

Gusto ko lamang sa buhay by Itchyworms - Catchy tune, mushy lyrics and nice video, this has it all

Pera Pera by Sandwich - The lyrics says it all…

The beginning of a beautiful friendship by Modulogeek - For those of you who don’t know, i somewhat know this guy and personally, he deserves to be recognized in the local music industry. Soothing to the ear musical arrangement, one artist to look forward to. Download his full album for free

Relentless by Stereodeal - After lineup changes and hearing at least more than 2 versions of this song, this latest one has got to be the best i’ve heard from them so far. Oh and by the way, yeah, i know 2 of this 3 piece band.

Click on the link and enjoy ze music.

i’ll post the foreign mixtape in a day or two.

Another has passed, and so on with my post. Here is a look back on the year that i had.

Celebrated our first year together as Donut-Pancake. (This is on top of my list)

Was looking for a new job. Almost came back to my roots as a video editor.

Acquired my own domain for this blog

Was hired by Gameloft Philippines as a Game Producer.

Didn’t swam in any pool nor beach (too busy)

Started on my first project (Hero of Sparta PSP)

Was able to finish it on time for release on the Minis format

Handled the finishing end of Oregon Trail DSiware (was recently released); that makes 2 game titles finished under a year

Currently starting on a new project

Went on a blogging hiatus (again, busy man)

Won the Redmobile Redretro entry (contest that was full of controversy but in the end, the truth prevailed)

Upgraded my PC (woot)

Techie year for 2009 (Cookiephone, Laptop, Ipod touch, PS3)

Still saving up money for the grand plan

Most of my friends got married

Was a stressful year (nevertheless, still can make it)

Composed some songs but doesn’t have the time recording it (again, busy)

Just like last year, been getting better, stronger and happier

I would assess the 2009 a year of challenges, happiness, stress, personal achievements and had me setting up my bar a notch in terms of personal abilities. Even though there were times that i was reaching my limits, there’s this special person who keeps me encouraged and gives me the reason to hang in there and she makes sure that everything is alright and well. Thank you so much and i love you! MNMKBP999. Cheers to forever for the both of us!

Thank you also god for all the blessings you have given us and making us strong and looking forward for more years to come.

I don’t know what 2010 holds for us, but rest assured, this will be a year of new challenges and a brighter future ahead.

To keep in tradition with my year-end posts, I’m making a mixtape available and on it is the list of songs that kept playing on my ipod, winamp and stereo over the past year. I shall call it, “Popo’s Rockin’ music for 2009″

10. Zach Lucero Feat. Sarah Marco of Taken By Cars – Matina Town Square

- Simply put one amazing drummer and songwriter plus one infectious voice like Sarah and you get this song. Classic indeed.

9. Hawthorne Heights – Somewhere in between

- Call them emo but this song is catchy especially upon reaching the chorus.

8. The Fray – You found me

- First heard it on television and was used as the theme song for the new season of Lost. These guys haven’t lost their touched at all just like their previous singles.

7. Spazzkid feat. Owel of Ang Bandang Shirley – Blinding Lights

- I believe this song was done a long time ago, and after acquiring Spazzkid EP’s over his site and listening to this song, i can’t help but miss my mini-keyboard. Go take a listen to this track. Perfect track to listen while driving the highway or just simply on a trip going somewhere else.

6. Plus/Minus – Snowblind

- Another track that makes me want to play the drums again. Take a listen

5. The Stolen Cars – Abbey and Audrey

- Discovered this track while playing Jam Legend online. More on the pop-ish side but a notable track listening to.

4. Coldrain – 8am

- One of 2 Japanese rock bands on my list. Used in the anime series “Hajime No Ippo: The new challenger” There was a second version though featured on the band’s debut album but i prefer this version that can be found on their EP.

3. Asian Kung-Fu Generation – Yoru no Call

- This band never fails to impress me. Year after year, they keep on releasing new tracks. I prefer this one over their latest one and im looking forward to their next one which would be featured on the movie Solanin.

2. Archipelago – Meteor

- Sadly, the only OPM band that made my list this year,. It was a tough call between peryodiko, kjwan, urbandub and pupil just to name a few but only one can stand out. Like a meteor… a hundred thousand years in the speed of light…. pure lyrical genius.

1. Foo Fighters – Everlong

- Breathe out… so i can breathe you in… hold you in… Dave Grohl and the rest of the band never fails to impress me. Heck, i even play this song on rockband and will not get tired of listening to it.

Download the mixtape by clickng here

Oh no… yes! these 3 letters is one of the most talked about genre of music nowadays. People tend to listen to this music genre and asks themselves “this i the end for me, i hate my life and i must die” Oh yeah… that would be the the first perception to some people when the word EMO comes in mind.

And so with that, i present you this mixtape entitled

*Emo kids of today..... demmet!

“Stab, Stab, Stab: The definitive emo collection vol.1″

All emo readers of my blog, this is one heck of a mixtape that will surely make you say “i hate myself and i want to die.” Heheh!
