We have this tradition of gift giving  to each and everyone and just for one day, we are one as a family. Then come the not-so-good part…. watching MMFF movies… hehehe!

But this year, things will be a little different. Me and my wife will be spending Christmas eve in Fairview, then we will be back to Cavite tomorrow and probably catch a movie or 2 from the entries in the MMFF. At least there is one interesting movie that caught my eye on the entries (no, not those friggin horror flicks i mean, why watch a horror flick on Christmas day?)

Fuuu Fighters – All i want for christmas is you

Next up, i’ll be doing my year-end mixtapes and a look back on the year 2011.

Why you ask? work is as usual, very very hectic as we are already on the beta phase of the games that we are currently porting. I can’t mention the titles well until they are released but i promise once they are released on the market, i’ll post it here as well.

Let’s offer a moment of silence to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami last March 11, 2011 in Japan.

Ok so why back to the roots? i’m back to video editing and i am in the process of polishing my skills again so that i can finally start on the short film i have in mind way back in college. Oh and also a documentary.

By the way, Killzone 3 is hands down one of the best shooters that the PS3 have at the moment. Some of you maw know that i’m an FPS player but only on the PC. However, im putting Killzone 3 an exemption. Go ahead guys and try it. Add me up as well on PSN with the name mikepopo (i use a Singapore account as when i bought my PS3, there is still no option to register here in PHL)

So there you go. I’ll try to post as often as i can to my blog.

As for the coming months, next month is one of these months that i have been currently looking for and i’m so excited for this one!

Beck – Evolution PV

Recently, there was a movie adaptation of it and it was only shown in Japan late last year. I haven’t been reading so much of the feedback from the movie until yesterday.

I got a copy of the movie and after watching through the movie (no subs mind you) though there are a few scenes with Ryuusuke and Maho that has English dialogues and honestly, i really need to have it subbed. There are a few scenes that are not included in the movie and then there are some new ones as well…

One spoiler though is that… nah i can’t tell you…. at first i was like “what the?!?” but after watching through it again, it does make sense after all. Why? this is to let us think about that thing… hehehe! see… no spoilers…

A few things though:

• The cast looks like their manga and anime counterpart
• If you are looking for songs from the anime, well, they have new material.. that’s it…
• Matt of The Dying Breed…. Effin Awesome…..
• Lucille (the guitar) looks even cool as a real guitar that works
• Liked the OBB of the movie… short but yeah, nice editing..

I do hope this move gets an English translation and be shown here in the Philippines (together with Solanin, another nice Manga to Movie adaptation) Please just please don’t murder it with local dubbing… Subtitles would be good enough….

- To all my detractors, please stop being bitter and move on with your lives. The judges have already spoken and they have already picked the winners. Let’s just leave it as it is.

- Recently, i watched the movie IP Man and i can’t help but watch it over and over again. Why? Check out the fight scene below so you will have an idea how badass ipman is as he uses Wing Chun.

I recommend you go out there and watch this movie. This has been out for almost a year and im quite surprised it was not shown in theaters here in our country. Either way, looking forward to IP Man 2 which will come out next year.

What makes me praise this film is that is has no special effects whatsoever, it has a clear story and of course, it really reflects the reality that is set in Mumbai, India. Now of course, if you are living here in the Philippines, you can somewhat relate to it. We can relate in one way or another.

Attention philippine movie directors, this film is a perfect example on how to do a movie that doesn’t rely on special effects nor cheesy rehashed love stories that we have seen through the ages.

When the DVD comes out, im getting me a copy.
