One of the first games that i got after buying my PS3 was Uncharted: Drakes Fortune (the first installment of the game) and honestly, i was hooked. After that, i picked up the second part of the game and managed to finish it on one sitting (well, not on crushing mode…. that’s hardcore)

And after 2 years, here come the latest installment. This time, Nathan is now wandering the deserts. Little details are known on the third installment but most of the familiar faces from the previous games are back (Drake, Chloe, Sully, and  Elena to name a few) and who know whose in there as well.

I have been playing the Multiplayer open beta and it retains one of the strong points of the second installment plus alot of fun.

I’d like to keep my hopes high to get this Collector’s edition of the game as seen below:

Guys, if you like to play action/adventure games on your PS3, this is one game that is hard to pass on. With superb voice acting, well executed story and memorable characters, this one is a must buy for this year.

I recommend you guys pick this one up as it get’s released this November 1, 2011.

Unfortunately, it’s not a new gadget, but it’s a sad day for Apple as Steve Jobs, the genius behind the successful products that apple produced passed away due to pancreatic cancer a few hours ago.

With that let’s offer a moment of silence for this genius man. Turn off any Apple gadget that you may have in your possession….

Even though they’re products are way expensive than the other, i hate to say this but it gives you that elite status if you own an apple product. I give kudos to the innovations that he did introduced to us over the years. Who would have thought the innovation of creating a portable music player that can store thousands of music, or a stylish phone that you can use to surf the web, play games and can do a whole lot more?

Steve Jobs, you have done yourself a good Job and for that, thank you for legacy that you left behind. 

• Batman: Arkham City – Must sell or trade games in order for me to get this one. I’ve finished the first installment and i’ll not miss this one.
• Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception - I’ll be getting the collector’s edition. i’ve been saving up for quite sometime and this one is one game that i wouldn’t miss. No contest, one of the best PS3 games of all time
• Dead Island – Will be released exactly tomorrow if all goes well… Zombies have never been this fun to annihilate!
• God Of War Origins Collection – Kratos + gigantic bosses + HD = Sold!
• Dark Souls - If Demon souls is hard, wait till you get your hands on this game.
• Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 - New fighters, lower price, what to expect from Capcom.
• Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection - PS2 Classice reborn on the PS3

Those are some of the game that are about to be released before the year ends.

However, the 2 games that are most FPS players out are talking about are also 2 of the choices that i would like to get this year as well. What am i talking about? It’s Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 (Hey, third time’s a charm!)

So let’s get a rundown on these 2 games.

Battlefield 3

• Different from the Battlefield: Bad Company franchise.
• Has vehicles
• Large maps; we are talking about island to island.
• Battlefield 2 for the PC, if i can remember it’s up to 32 players but now on part 3, they are targeting to a total of 64 players.
• Uses the Frostbite Engine 2
• Vehicles can be immobilized before being destroyed

Modern Warfare 3

• Third in the series, A continuation of the second installment
• Returning characters like Soap McTavish, John Price, Nikolai and others just to name a few
• Dedicated servers for the PC (this was an issue in Modern Warfare 2, they opted for IWnet)
• New Multiplayer game modes (Kill Confirm, Team Defender, Infection, Drop Zone, Team Juggernaut, Gun Game and One in the Chamber)
• Includes the Call of Duty XP Elite membership where players can participate and compete for real money

So there are the details, now here are my thouhts on both games and this is where the faceoff for consumers like me begins.

• 64 Players is a cool concept, except if your PC can handle the mayhem that will happen on the screen. +1 to Battlefield 3
• If all goes well, the story in the Modern Warfare series has got to be one of the immersive ones i have seen and felt. +1 to Modern Warfare 3
• New Multiplayer game modes is a plus on a Gamers perspective. While Battlefield 3 has the 64 player mayhem, the new game modes in MW3 is something im looking forward to give a try. For this, +1 for Modern Warfare 3
• Fighting with your enemies have never been good with vehicles. From Tanks to Choppers Amphibians to Jets…. Yes those Badass jets are back! +1 for Battlefield 3

If i were to decide, it’s up for the player to choose what to get. But for now, i’m leaning towards Battlefield 3, simply because of the possible mayhem that it will bring to the players and at the same time, it’s good to reminisce the good ol’ Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 days… Teamplay is on!

On the Other hand, the Limited Edition that will be packed here in the Philippines only contains tha Back to Karkand Pack, Physical warfare pack and im so surprised and disappointed that they replaced the Steelbook Case into a T-Shirt… yes a Friggin T-Shirt…. Hoping for Modern Warfare 3 to keep up their Steel Case “Hardened Edition” when it gets here.

The crossover we have all been waiting for. It was already announced last year and we were only given a prototype video of the said game.

Well, not until today….

The latest trailer was unveiled and pretty much, there are a lot of new in-game videos presented to the people. Check out the trailer below and see for yourself the mayhem.

In other news….

Also,, the rumored DLC (rumor that there would also be a disc version) for Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition has been unveiled as well.

The video leaked last week and not until today, this one was officially unveiled. Though i have to admit, the excitement was not that high enough because of the leak but hey, at least it’s something to look forward to for players like me who get’s beaten up in the arcades.

I should practice more….

After the long wait…. Taken By Cars is finally back to release their sophomore album entitled “Dualist”

I’ve been waiting for this release for quite sometime… i think it’s time for them to release it as the OPM airwaves is no no offense, polluted with P-pop crap and korean boybands that is well, not good for the local music industry.

They have tracks up for free listening here.

Personal favorite track at the moment has to be This is our City

I have already watched the first 2 and looking forward to the third one. Why am i talking about this show? because one of them were sent here in Manila to be a Bus Driver (actually, it’s not a bus but a Jeepney that he would be driving.)

So after watching the video i came up with some personal conclusions:

• He didn’t flaunt off his HDTV’s nor fancy cars… simple guy
• Fireplace in the swimming  pool…. cool
• Not that big, just right
• Liked the layout of the house
• Secret Weapon: “Iggs”
• Last but not the least, lot’s of Pictures (can you count how many times did he said the word Picture/s in the segment?

By the looks of the game, it retains the cinematic looks of Final Fantasy 13. I did noticed though that the game’s battle system has been somewhat changed and now resembles the system used in Kingdom Hearts (oh Kingdom Hearts 3 where art thou?) and honestly, the system fits the fast-paced battle that is happening on the screen.

Hoping to play this one as FFXIII wasn’t that great after all….
